Explore Antigua the cobblestoned town as a world heritage site. Antigua is best known for its lovely colonial ruins, the remains of churches, monasteries and convents destroyed by earthquakes that plagued the Spanish colony. Lake Atitlan is famous for its natural beauty and colourful Mayan villages.

Day 1 (Thursday) Transfer to Antigua

09:00 am Watertaxi from Punta Gorda to Puerto Barrios

11:00 am Taxi from Puerto Barrios to the Bus Terminal “Litegua”

12:00 pm Express “Luxury” Bus Transfer to Guatemala City

05:00 pm Pick Up Service and transfer to Antigua (Mundo Guatemala)

06:00 pm Check in at your “Hotel in Antigua”. Overnight in Antigua Hostel San Nicolas

Day 2 (Friday) Antigua

Place yourself in La Antigua Guatemala’s glorious past. Muse among the silent stones. Wind your way along the walls and wonder. Stand in a royal chapel and speculate. Who stood on the same spot 300  years ago? Or, climb the stairs of the ruins of the San Francisco church and have some of the best views of the volcanoes. These ruins are among the oldest of the city and perhapsthe only ones from the 16th century.

In the afternoon you can still enjoy a relaxed walk through the cobblestone streets of this colonial town through Antigua North and South.

Overnight in Antigua Hostel San Nicolasas.

Day 3 (Saturday) Antigua-Panajachel - Lake Atitlan - Antigua

Guatemala is peppered with lakes and lagoons, often also of volcanic origin.

The most spectacular is Lake Atitlan, which was born when a volcano blew its top 85,000 years ago and is now over 340 meters ( 1000 + feet) deep.

Lake Atitlan is the juwel of the western highlands, ringed by volcanoes and some of the country’s most traditional villages and reached via the colorful town of Panajachel.

Day 4 (Sunday) Antigua - Guatemala City - Puerto Barrios - Punta Gorda

05:00 am Pick Up Service from your hotel, Transfer to Guatemala City.

06:00 am Express Service Bus Transfer Litegua to Puerto Barrios

02:00 pm Water Taxi back to Punta Gorda

03:30 pm Arrival in Punta Gorda (Wharf)
